Happy Easter everyone!

This one is for all Doctor Who fans out there!
Yes, I’m a geek and proud :-)! The new series started tonight and completely changed all my plans for today’s photo in just one line “It’s not a leaf, it’s page one”.
Clara’s parting words to The Doctor not only reminded me off the collection of leaves I’d pressed last Autumn but also of Rene Magritte.
I’d just like to add that the only thing added in Photoshop to this image is the text, as I wanted to find a font similar to that used by Magritte!

Mum and Dad gave me another cut-out birthday card this year so I thought I’d finish off the week with another silhouetted picture.
It’s my birthday today hence the theme of the artwork 😉 I might be getting a bit rusty and weathered but then so is this piece of garden furniture which I thought was simply beautiful!
Went out for a lovely lunch with my Mum, sister and brother-in-law to an interesting little walled garden with shops and cafes called The Medicine Garden in Cobham, Surrey.
I would most definitely recommend visiting. Also mums will be interested in the arts and crafts classes and parties held there for children. There are activities for adults too including Tai Chi and Yoga. Lovely food!
Visit them at http://www.themedicinegarden.com/ or their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Medicine-Garden/130391423651704?fref=ts
I seem to be a bit lost for words today.
I shall just let these little, hand-coloured leaves speak for me!
So I have a poem brewing inspired by this image, current weather patterns and troubled times for family and friends.
I want to give this one a bit of time to work on though! It needs careful thought and development.
So until then, for everyone feeling a little “blue”, this is dedicated to you.
Light Hearted
Your smile
And smiling eyes,
Your strength
And gentleness,
Your determination
And your patience,
Your love
And your laughter,
Your constancy,
Whether near or apart
Are just some
Of the things that
Lighten my heart.
I thought it was about time I created something to say hello and wish all my followers a very warm welcome to my blog!
Thank you all for following my project and for your comments. I’ve really been enjoying seeing and reading all your work too.
WordPress has become a wonderful, worldwide, interactive gallery in my own home!
I made my own Kaleidoscope today 🙂 It was fun!
Life can be rather kaleidoscopic, a twist or turn and everything is all mixed up again. It’s certainly colourful!
There are days when many of us wish life was a little less variable. We long for at least a modicum of control.
It’s all a bit like photography really, there are times when I need control over all the individual elements to the photographic process. That’s often hard work but can bring great reward!
I love the chaos too, experimenting with every aspect of the process to achieve something that will surprise and delight me.
I enjoy the freedom of loosing control……….
……….sometimes!
Another experiment in “recycled art” today. I’m finding that some images really don’t work at all with this technique and then others seem to have been made for it!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
