For this weeks Weekly Photo Challenge: Pattern, Sara Rosso writes: “Patterns are everywhere. Patterns are sometimes intentional and sometimes accidental…..”
I’ve been thinking about this subject for a few days now as I think it would have been easy to rush into! I do love the organic, recurring patterns in nature but, hopefully, I’ll have plenty of those to bring to you throughout the summer.
I’ve always enjoyed how photography can bring me both the intentional AND accidental in an image. Within my abstract work I’ve noticed I do tend to be drawn toward creating pattern, albeit often irregular.
What I eventually decided to try to do was to take an everyday, ordinary object and then use light and exposure to try to imitate a pattern from nature! Did I succeed?
The subject “Pattern” actually has quite a wide remit! I look forward to finding some time over the next few days to see what other bloggers came up with.
And if you’ve not already, you can still take part in the challenge with your own take on pattern.
Here’s some food for thought from the dictionary:
