Face The Future

Face The Future

1 year, 365 days, 1 new photo every day, a great experience!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Joy

You bet I’m joyful tonight! Now that I’ve achieved my goal for 2013 what more lies ahead?

Well, first I shall give myself a few days off! I think deserve it 🙂

But before we all embark on whatever adventures await us in 2014 I thought I ought to turn the camera on myself and say “Hello and thank you”!

For every new follower, for each individual like, for the inspiration, for such great comments and encouragement, THIS is my happy face.

I’m really proud of myself for having completed my challenge and I’m looking forward to my second year of blogging, albeit with a slightly different look to my site!

Happy New Year to one and all! May 2014 be a joyful, creative journey for you too.

Small boy with a new trike!

It’s the simple pleasure of watching children achieving new milestones that is so joyful.

Nate got this fantastic trike from his Grandparents for Christmas and although his toes only just reach the ground, he managed to scoot forwards on his own this morning!

Then came another moment that I should have had the camera out for but had just started blogging – Nate just took his first two completely unaided steps!!!! I feel so lucky that we were here, visiting to see it 🙂

Thank you to Rachel, Joe and Nate, our Manchester family, for having us and completing a truly joyful Christmas time!

A fabulous goldfinch on the feeder and a whole selection of Shropshire garden birds today, to spread the joy around!

One of the very best things about coming to Shropshire is watching and photographing the birds! For me that is pure joy 🙂 The Great Spotted Woodpeckers were just beautiful to watch today!

We skirted today’s storms and arrived safely in Shropshire to a warm welcome from family and the wood-burner!

Pebbles is one of Heather and Julian’s cats and he loves to claim the warmest, most cosy spot right in front of the fire 🙂

Floodland

Floodland

This is a part of Papercourt Meadows, an important wetland, wildlife reserve. It’s not usually this wet though!

I’ve previously shared a number of photographs, particularly sunsets, from the pathway that runs alongside the River Wey, through the centre of the meadowland.

Today’s photo is taken from about a quarter of a mile south of the river, the closest I could get! Boxing Day walkers were certainly in for a soggy surprise today.

The South of England was hit hard by strong winds and heavy rains on Christmas Eve. Although there was a lull today the storms are due to return tomorrow!

Twelve Days ‘Til Christmas: On The Twelfth Day

Twelve Days 'Til Christmas: On The Twelth Day

On the twelfth day of Christmas, whatever did I see?
Twelve candles glowing,
Eleven gifts need wrapping!
Ten cats-a-waiting,
Nine lady dancers,
Eight cows for milking,
Seven ducks-a-swimming,
Six troopers trooping,
FIVE GOLD COINS!
Four friends at Wisley,
Three kids and Chitty,
Two pipers playing
AND
A Santa with a rabbit on his knee!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Day tomorrow!

These wrapping decorations were in my local gift shop, Apples & Pears. Just a few more gifts to wrap and I’m all set! Are you all ready for Christmas? Reduce your stress levels with a happy song 😉

Daily Prompt: My Number One

Photographers, artists, poets: show us CHERISH.

Going away to Banbury for a great night of music is great fun but it’s lovely coming home to our cherished girlies, Juno and Luna 🙂

I love creating these photomontages for many reasons. Most of all I love doing them for Simon, just to see the look of pride in his face. My biggest fan, my strongest supporter, my number one!
