NaBloPoMo – From The Gardens At St Thomas’
There are some pretty, little gardens next to St Thomas’ Hospital in London that really do have the most fabulous views! I captured a few of them, on my Sony Xperia Z1 phone, while I was there yesterday.
The gardens are very sheltered, but I was surprised to find a few flowers still providing spots of colour in the borders.
Next to the main entrance is an intriguing sculpture called “Cross The Divide” by Rick Kirby, which is said to represent a helping hand and the relationship between the patient and doctor.
The very best view from the gardens is of the Palace of Westminster which is equally beautiful during the day or night!
Beautiful photos Sarah – those day and night shots at the end are just stunning. All on a phone – amazing!
Thanks Jenny 🙂 The day/night photos were only taken about an hour and half apart while I was in the hospital! 4pm and it’s dusk now.
It’s amazing how quickly day becomes night in the English winter. How wonderful that you got the chance to get both shots while you were there. A small silver lining for a hospital trip.
There are silver linings to everything if you only look for them 🙂
Such stunning takes, love them all
Thank you 🙂
I love unexpected pretty greenspaces like that! The view of Westminster from there is just perfect!
Greenspaces in cities are so important! There are many more in London than most people realise. There’s even a Wetlands Centre at Barnes!
Another set of beautiful photos of London, Sarah. The sculpture is incredible; love the last two images.
Thanks Amy 🙂 You’d be surprised at the number of Londoners and commuters who have no idea about little gardens like this, or the sculptures dotted around the city!
Lovely images Sarah…..that “Cross the Divide” sculpture is fascinating
Beautiful photos. 😀
Thank you Raewyn 🙂
