    • Thank you Lucy πŸ™‚ Oh, I know just what you mean! I would have loved to stroke them but owls have a very delicate balance of oils in their feathers so you have to be careful handling them. They’re very loving birds to keep though and build incredibly strong bonds with their handlers πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Adrian πŸ™‚ Yes, I wanted to get the mood right with the processing to give a more wild and natural look to her box and perch. I used a Grad ND filter and vignette in Nik Colour Efex. She has such beautiful markings πŸ™‚

    • Oh if only I could take credit for finding a wild barn owl!! She’s a captive bred owl and part of a educational falconry display that a rescue centre in Devon put on. We had a private photography session and the idea behind photographing her perched on the lip of the owl box was to try to create a natural, wild looking photograph that could be used to promote owl boxes for conservation of our wild birds πŸ™‚ The plan obviously worked! Thanks Bella πŸ™‚
