Glorious!
Thanks Sue 🙂 Spotted this beauty while we were in Shropshire.
Double glorious! OK, Techie question. What lens did you use for this shot?
Thanks Jude 🙂 This was shot with my my favourite all-round lens, Sigma 18-250 with macro. Really great lens to travel with and not ridiculously expensive either! The background really fell away as those flower stems are quite tall so you can still get nice bokeh whilst shooting at f8 or more to get maximum detail of the subject. This was shot at 250mm so I could keep my shadow well away from the butterfly. I used the same lens to get the shot of the cattle that I posted on Wednesday, at 18mm f11, so you can see how great it is to travel with 🙂
Thanks for that Sarah. I am grateful for all the advice and help. Sorry we didn’t make Wisley, but the weather turned for the worse. Next time!
My pleasure Jude! It’s still horrible here today 😦 Typical British Summer bank holiday really.
If it could talk it would say ‘how pretty am I’. Gorgeous pic Sarah ..
Ha ha, thanks Julie 🙂 It seemed to be saying exactly that to me while posing for my shots!
Gorgeous – and technically gorgeous 🙂
Thank you so much David!!
Stunning portrait, Sarah – really right up there with your very best! A 🙂
Thank you so much Adrian!!! So glad everyone likes this one 🙂
I so love your butterflies Sarah! they are magical!!
Thanks Cybele 🙂 I think butterflies exude magic in their delicacy. I’m always entranced by them!
A magical capture, Sarah! Beautiful!
Thanks Amy 🙂 They’re such pretty butterflies! One of our migratory species.
