  2. We’ve been searching for autumn for over a 3 weeks now. Next week we’re traveling through Utah and will make a stop in Zion. We were there two weeks ago and nothing but green!

    • Most of the native English trees are still quite green except for the Horse Chestnuts which turn brown almost overnight! It’s lovely if you find a woodland full of beech and ash but there’s now so much pine mixed in. All the acers (maples and sycamore) turned quite early so parts of the countryside are a patchwork of colour πŸ™‚ This part of the arboretum is mostly acers and azaleas so it looks amazing in spring too! Hope the colours really come in at Zion. The mountain is a perfect backdrop!

      • We’ve been discussing how we will manage this trip as it is 3 hours to Zion and then another 4 hours to Lehi Utah where we have to be the next day. So either we’ll stay at Zion that night and drive the rest of the way the next day, or just plow straight on through in one day.

      • I’d probably stay overnight so you can get the late sunlight for the photos! That’s always my favourite light in the autumn πŸ™‚ I’m not much of a morning person but that would also give you the option of an early night and then getting up for sunrise and the early light at Zion before you head off.

      • I’m not much of an early person, either. My wife gets out of bed almost every morning at 5 and lets me sleep. But I’m siding with you on this one. Let’s
