Beautiful
Thanks Raewyn π
Oh yes, beautiful. What are those amazing flowers Sarah?
They’re chrysanthemum!! Aren’t they astonishing? These are oriental varieties all cultivated for their ornamental beauty π Wisley Gardens hold a display every winter it always blows my mind!! Glad you like them Robyn, thanks π
Beautiful.
Thanks Ardys π
Looks like an underwater photo. Very cewl.
They’re incredibly surreal flowers! Yes, they’re reminiscent of sea anemone or colourful urchins. Plant cultivation is an artform all of its own in Japan and China π I will be posting more this week!
I really like your composition and focal point on the image, Sarah.
Thanks Jane π I lost myself in these blooms for ages looking for inspiring compositions! They were all planted on mass and in a truly brilliant visual display in the glasshouse but it was hard to pick out the best individual flowers.
Wow, very beautiful π
Thank you π They’re such fun!
Perfect DOF!
Thanks Laura π The perfect flowers for having fun with DOF I think!
You’re welcome! They really are.
I will share more soon! The display was amazing π
Such alien looking flowers, so beautiful!
Thanks Janaline π They really are quite astonishing! I just love photographing these blooms π
Gorgeous….has the look of underwater coral
Thanks Mark π That’s two references to underwater scenes for these ones! They’re quite extraordinary plants.
beautiful composition! I love the underwater comment!! True! anemones of some kind!
Thanks Cybele π I do find it astonishing that flowers can be cultivated to produce such an array of shapes that are so different to the original plant! I love some of the ornamental and giant dahlias that people grow too π
Heaven Sarah ..
Oh thank you Julie π They’re such amazing plants and it’s a joy to photograph and share the beauty!
That is a brilliant photo Sarah, I would never have guessed they were chrysanthemums!!! π I agree with many of the comments above, they look like they should be living in the sea!
I don’t think many people in the UK are aware of the fancy chrysanths! You certainly wouldn’t find these ones in a petrol station bouquet π I love how other-worldly they look! Some look a bit like fireworks!
That’s a good description Sarah, like fireworks π
