Blue Monday: Holiday Blues

We’re off to our beloved Kos again! I shall be taking a bit of a break for the next couple of weeks. Don’t worry though, the cameras are coming with me off course and I will have plenty to share on my return! For now I will leave you with an image taken last year of the moon rising over Kastri Island. Simon and I got married just in front of the little chapel you can see on the left of the island. Can’t wait to be back!

  1. Wow. An amazing photo of an incredible place to get married. Buon Viaggio! (I know that’s not Greek, but I don’t know much Greek except ‘yassu’ and ‘yaya’ and the spelling of those is probably not right!)😃

    • Thanks Ardys 🙂 Even I can’t spell Greek words correctly! Even using the Greek alphabet you’ll often find that Greeks themselves don’t always spell things the same way, particularly place names. Yes, Kastri is just stunning and I am soooooo looking forward to the calmer way of life over there right now 🙂

  2. Hello Sarah, Your photo of the moon over the island and the water is stunning. How wonderful for you and your husband to go back to this beautiful place. Memories of being married there would be enough for me to return again and again. Enjoy your holiday my sweet blogging friend.
    Hugs,
    Jeanne

    • Thanks Rommel 🙂 It was so perfect for us! We absolutely fell in love with Kos the first time we went there and just love snorkeling around the rocks near Kastri island. To be able to get married in a place that means so much to us both was wonderful 🙂

    • Hope you had a fab time too! Utterly magical place 😀 We were so over the moon when we discovered that we could actually get married there! It was all fated 😀 Really really didn’t want to come back this time! As much as I adore the landscape and wildlife of the UK I feel too hemmed in here. Simple things are always unnecessarily overcomplicated. Cost of living is a joke! Community is fading 😦 Don’t know how much you notice the changes in your area of Scotland? The whole “Brexit” issue has been pretty much the last straw for me.

      • Brexit has indeed been a sad blow Sarah, and I think perhaps the changes are a little slower to reach us up here, but changes there definitely are. The sheer numbers of an ever growing population are hard to miss sadly😔

      • My poor brother has already had to make redundancies at their London office! Job market has really dropped off with the economic uncertainty. They’re a recruitment agency and cover much of Europe with their clients. It’s hard to know quite how this is going to affect the entire UK at the moment. You’re so right about population growth! Plus people are living longer even if they’re actually very poorly. Massive strain on social services and the health sector 😦 I have care workers who help me out in the morning and the majority of their clients are dementia patients. It’s a horrible disease!! Takes everything from a person’s mind. There’s not enough home based support for them either. It’s no way to live. I would rather check out early than linger like that! Most families these days just don’t actually have the time or money to try looking after elderly and frail relatives. Horrible for everyone to be in such a position! Of course most care staff are actually employed from EU countries so we just have to pray that borders can remain open.

  3. Happy anniversary Sarah & Simon, that is a great image. Love it. Did you have to boost the vibrance much to get those colours? Hope you two having a fab time. MM 😘
