Thanks Ardys π
This has an ethereal beauty about it. The colours and fine details, the light makes this sucha special image. Wonderfully done!
Thanks Pete π I was going for the ethereal look. They’re so delicate and almost spectral at this stage! I liked the colour that they were holding on to π It’s like they don’t quite want to let go of summer yet!
You are welcome, Sarah π You certainly captured the spectral beauty. I really like anything like this. I don’t want to let go of summer yet, either π
I love looking for beauty in the unexpected! It’s still warm here and there’s a great mix between the seasons now π I love the colours and light of Autumn! Hope we get a good one this year. Still posting out a few summer images of course!
I love the soft, almost pastel hues and the way those contrast with the spiky shapes of the plants.
Thanks Laura π Yes it’s a lovely contrast that you only get for such a short time before all the colours are gone! I haven’t managed to capture that before with seed pods. They really were just on the cusp of turning!
Beautiful Sarah!
Thanks Robyn π I miss the longer days already but I do love the shift in seasons!
Yes, an ethereal and fragile feel, Sarah. Terrific depth of field and composition. I’m always excited when I come across seed pods- have never seen anything like these. Very beautiful.
Thanks so much Jane π It’s a treat to catch them right on the cusp of change! Cornflowers are a favourite of mine π I love seeing seedpods and dieback being left for a while on plants as we move into autumn. They’re such great natural sculptures π
Oh, I love them! I want to find some seed pods – where did you spot these?
Thanks Sue π This was up in my Mother-in-law’s garden but I’ve been spotting lots around Wisley and in some verges where the wildflowers haven’t been cut back yet! I often feel that many gardens cut out the seedpods and dieback far too soon. I know they’re trying to be tidy gardens but it’s not really best practice and you miss out on the beauty of the skeletal remains of the plants.
I totally agree…

Beautiful Sarah. I really adore the DOF and the pastel feel to this.
Thanks Laura π They really caught my eye with the bit of colour remaining and the juxtaposition of the stems. I love seed heads anyway but these were delightful to find!
You’re welcome! A great find indeed. π
It pays to move around slowly sometimes π
Lovely -beautiful soft color.
Thanks Kathie π
Brilliant Sarah, absolutely brilliant……love everything about this shot.
Bless you Mark!! I just knew it would be a beautiful piece of art to work on when I found the seed heads. Thank you so much for your comment π
“Love In a Mist” seedheadsβ¦these are so interesting. I haven’t planted any in years and I think you have inspired me for next season.
Thanks so much π Happy to spread some gardening inspiration! These are from my mother-in-law’s garden which I absolutely adore visiting a few times each year when we can get away for a few days. I love anything derived from simple wildflowers! The cottage garden look, overflowing and a bit untidy is definitely my kind of garden π
