Where’s this one, Sarah?
This is the chapel at the old Monastery of Agios Ioannis on the side of Mount Zini here on the southwestern end of Kos. It’s absolutely stunning!! I do need Simon’s help when we get there as there are a number of steps to slowly navigate. I’d go down them on my backside though if it came to it, just to see the inside of that little chapel! The artwork in there is stunning 😊
Those Greek chapels are often beautiful
Oh they are indeed but of all the ones that I’ve visited, this tiny chapel always takes my breath away! Every single part of the interior is decorated, not a plain patch of wall or woodwork wherever you look 😍
The Wooden Churches in Romania are similarly adorned, but in a more rustic way
I’ve seen a few photos of them from my Romanian carers and they are stunning! Hopefully I will get to visit Romania with one of my carers at some point. They have a log cabin in the mountains and it looks amazing 😊
Hopefully you do get to go, Sarah!
Probably won’t be this year but fingers crossed we can work something out for next year 😊
this is exquisite.
Thank you so much 😊 Exquisite is definitely the right word for this stunning chapel!
GREAT POST!
