ShareMondays2018 – Tangled

ShareMondays2018 – Tangled

I love that there are still some leaves on the trees bringing muted Autumn colours into early Winter. This week has been hectic! I only got the camera out for a short while yesterday afternoon on a visit to the Woodland Gardens, in Bushy Park, with my hubby. It was really nice to spend a couple of hours relaxing and wandering through the woods, without any pressures or deadlines! Speaking of deadlines, it’s just one image today for all three Monday challenges, ShareMondays, Fotospeed and WexMondays. Hope you like it!

On An Island

Such a beautiful scene, the last glorious tones of Autumn, really needed a stitched panorama to get in all the details! This is Claremont Landscape Gardens, managed by the National Trust, near Esher and Cobham. A wonderful place to explore, relax, have a cuppa and feed the birds (please bring proper bird seed or duck/swan pellets that are available at most garden centres).

Sometimes it pays to be trundling around RHS Wisley Gardens in a wheelchair, especially when you’re at the perfect height to fully appreciate the beauty of this wonderful, gnarly old tree! This one is for the Fotospeed challenge today.

Weald Way Woods

This beautiful woodland sits on land alongside the ancient Weald Way. In Spring the ground is carpeted with bluebells, now, in Autumn it’s crisp with leaf litter and bracken. The golden light in the late afternoon barely breaks through the canopy of leaves remaining on the trees. Even on a really chilly, late October weekend, I felt the warmth.

The Call Of The Wild

A Call To Arms

The Call Of The Wild

Last Tuesday I got up obscenely early to go to Bushy Park to see the deer rut in the morning mist. The mist was minimal and there was no actual rutting, just a lot of bellowing! The bellowing was most impressive though as was the Autumnal colour in the bracken and trees. Before I left, the sun had cleared the cloud away and most of the stags were having a rest. I made a little video of one stag lying down by the lake, hope you like it!
