Blue Monday: Busy Bee

Blue Monday: Busy Bee

The gardens are all just heavenly for bees at the moment! In a few days time Simon and I will be on Kos, one of the beautiful Greek Islands. I’m really looking forward to a bit of Kos Thyme Honey on fresh bread for my breakfasts 🙂 Thyme flourishes all over the island which is also dotted with clusters of Greek-blue beehives! Driving along the roads of Kos with the windows down is a wonderfully fragranced journey 🙂

Magnificent Moth

Magnificent Moth

I spent the afternoon with my friend Nikki at RHS Wisley Gardens having a good, girly catch-up, spotting butterflies and this marvellous moth!

I’m pretty sure it’s Noctuidae (Family) Plusiinae (Subfamily), possibly either the Ni Moth (Trichoplusia ni) or a Silver Y (Autographa gamma). I shall run it by the experts to make sure!

We saw a number of other butterflies among the abundant flowers in the borders and wildflower meadow! Next week we’ll visit again with the children in tow. They want to see the WI Scarecrow Trail 🙂
