Professionally Cute

Professionally Cute!

Professionally Cute

Easter Holidays mean I get to spend more time with my grandsons! Matthew is three and does cute professionally πŸ˜‰ We were at a local park enjoying the warm Spring weather and I asked him if he’d grown too big to fit through the log holes. Almost! They really do grow so quickly. Callum, who’s six, tried to fit in one too, but I didn’t get a photo of him for two reasons; one, I couldn’t see his face; two, I was laughing too much! Had such a lovely time with them I decided that this would be my entry for Wex Mondays this week. It just expresses all the joy I feel getting to spend time with the kids, watching them play and laugh. And no, you can’t have Matthew! He’s ours πŸ˜€

Weekly Photo Challenge: Treat

Treat

Weekly Photo Challenge: Treat

I had such a treat this last week as it was Half-term Holidays and I managed to get six of my favourite little people all together for a fun filled day at RHS Wisley Gardens! They navigated the straw maze brilliantly to discover this huge pile of harvest goodies, including some giant pumpkins, in the centre. Matthew, the youngest at 2yrs old, held my wheelchair arm as we went through, pointing at which direction he thought we should go. He got most of it right too! James and Zach cheated by crawling through a hole in the straw, Callum and Mylie must have done the maze half a dozen times when we finally found the pumpkins. Rosie, my goddaughter and the eldest at 10yrs old, was a real star and stayed with me to help keep an eye on Matthew πŸ™‚ It gave us a chance to have a good natter too. These little people mean the world to me! Well, Rosie’s not really so little anymore as she’s now taller than me! I have never been well enough, from my Crohn’s and Fibromyalgia, to have children of my own. I love spending time with the kids, especially when I can share my passion and knowledge of the natural world to inspire them while having fun outdoors. Happy Halloween to my precious munchkins and thank you for enriching my life so much πŸ™‚

Travel Theme and Weekly Photo Challenge: Twinkle With Freedom

Travel Theme and Weekly Photo Challenge: Twinkle With Freedom

I love the freedom of creating abstract photography with lights and glass. It takes me back to my years of painting with oils and developing my photography in a darkroom. Starting out with a simple subject and taking a creative journey, testing, experimenting, without any agenda, just unconscious thought and the joy of the imaginative process. It often makes me feel like a small child on Christmas morning, clutching a full stocking in my trembling hands and trying to guess what’s inside from the feel and sound of its contents!

During such a busy time of year I’ve also been having fun with the freedom to artistically explore my photography with the apps on my phone! I can sit comfortably at my favourite coffee shop with a mocha and a cake and enjoy the simple pleasures of creating something that I hope might surprise and delight. I hope to spread some twinkling, festive cheer with a little gallery of stars based on our tree-topper. I used a combination of Google+ Photos, Aviary, Adobe PS Touch and the brilliantly bonkers Superphoto (all for Android). Have a wonderful silly-season everyone, enjoy the simple pleasures and have fun in all you do πŸ™‚

Weekly Photo Challenge: Juxtaposition

I got this robin free with a cappuccino at RHS Wisley Gardens last year!

This weekend is the annual RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. I’ll be at Wisley with Simon, my friend Nikki and her children, so after we’ve delighted in the butterflies we’ll be having a few cuppa’s and counting the birds πŸ™‚

Twelve Days 'Til Christmas: On The Sixth Day

On the sixth day of Christmas, whatever did I see?
Six troopers trooping,
FIVE GOLD COINS!
Four friends at Wisley,
Three kids and Chitty,
Two pipers playing
AND
A Santa with a rabbit on his knee!

Thank you to Helen and Oliver for letting me play with their Lego today πŸ™‚ Christmas is a good time of year to find your inner child! Keep singing!!

Twelve Days ‘Til Christmas: On The Third Day

Twelve Days 'Til Christmas: On The Third Day

On the third day of Christmas, whatever did I see?
Three kids and Chitty,
Two pipers playing
AND
A Santa with a rabbit on his knee!

Are you singing along yet?

We had a pre-Christmas family gathering at Brooklands Museum today. Unbeknownst to us a rather Magical Car arrived just three weeks ago, the legendary Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! This really is one of the original cars from the film and as you can see the wicked Child Catcher has rounded up three of our party, Zach, Mylie and Callum.

I’ll put a full photo-set up on my Facebook Page as soon as I can, with some of the other fantastic flying machines; cars, motorbikes, planes, buses and bicycles!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand

Luna and Juno have a grand, new, play house! Luna likes to be the boss, sitting at the top. Juno was on it before Simon had even managed to finish building it!
