Hearts Bleeding For Manchester
Now that I’m not fixed into creating a new photograph to post every day, I thought it would be nice to join in with some of the other challenges hosted by fellow bloggers.
I’ve really enjoyed seeing everyone’s posts for Ailsa’s Travel Theme. I hope I can entertain you all with some submissions of my own! This week’s photo was taken in Manchester over the Christmas period. We were only there for the day visiting my friend, Rachel, and her family but we had a bit of time to see the city illuminated after dusk.
Primark is a retailer of extremely affordable items (that’s my generous description!). I rather like the irony of such a shop being set in this grand and elegantly lit building. Originally built in 1877 for Lewis’ department store, this is Victorian architecture at its best! Whatever I may think of their produce, I must say that the owners of Primark have done us a great service in restoring such a wonderful piece of Manchester’s historic City Centre.
Small boy with a new trike!
It’s the simple pleasure of watching children achieving new milestones that is so joyful.
Nate got this fantastic trike from his Grandparents for Christmas and although his toes only just reach the ground, he managed to scoot forwards on his own this morning!
Then came another moment that I should have had the camera out for but had just started blogging – Nate just took his first two completely unaided steps!!!! I feel so lucky that we were here, visiting to see it 🙂
Thank you to Rachel, Joe and Nate, our Manchester family, for having us and completing a truly joyful Christmas time!
Sadly, it’s our last night here in Manchester! It has been just wonderful to be with Rachel, Joe and baby Nate.
I brought a few bits and pieces up for Nate and this alphabet book seems to be a huge success 🙂
I think that may have something to do with the fact that he can chew on it and it makes a good rustling sound!
He does seem to like the brightly coloured pictures too and so does mummy.
I shall be sad to leave tomorrow and hope we can all get together again soon! Simon and I must get back to our own little boy though. Yes, the small, black furry one called Pixel 😉
Magic for more reasons than just the Super League Rugby and seeing my best friend!
Going to the Rugby with Nate, for his first ever game, was real magic 🙂
He had loads of fun and cast his own magic spell on everyone who met him today!
So here I am in sunny Manchester and we’ve had a lovely day out at Arley Hall and Gardens.
Rachel and Joe have a truly gorgeous little boy in Nate. Full of smiles and giggles, his bright, blue eyes speak volumes to you. He’s so interested in everything and everyone around him and very expressive too.
Just 6 months old, he’s definitely about to start crawling, pushing himself up on all fours! His parents are going to be exhausted trying to keep up with him soon enough 😉
Tomorrow we’re all off to the Rugby League Magic Weekend. Nate’s going to love it I’m sure! Rugby, whether League or Union, always has such great crowds, a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of action.
