ShareMondays2018 – Summer Has Flown By
A beautiful, male southern hawker dragonfly, fiercely protecting his territory, at RHS Wisley Gardens, in the warm sunshine yesterday. These hawkers are dragonflies of Autumn, seen into October and occasionally even November. I’m sharing this beauty for this week’s ShareMondays2018 and Fotospeed challenges.
Summer has flown by
In the mere blink of an eye
Autumn colours reign

Busy day! Editing, more editing, publishing, coffee break, more editing, publishing, yet more editing……..
……..oh and trimming the orchids!
After the recent orchid exhibition at RHS Wisley Gardens, they held a sale of some of the plants from the displays.
…….could you resist?
I bought myself a photo tent recently and decided to put it to use for my Photo of The Day.
Pixel thinks it’s a brand new toy for him though!
And then I added the orchid………
……..Pixel tried to eat it!
Simon and I managed to get down to
RHS Wisley for a few hours on this warm, sunny day.
Simon had very much wanted to see the
Orchids in The Glasshouse and I was more than happy to revisit the event 🙂
This beautiful example is Odontioda, one of my favourite genus of orchid. Quite by chance it’s Simon’s favourite too!
There’s still one more week to visit the orchids, although there are always a number on display in The Glasshouse throughout the year.
The gardens are looking beautiful now as they finally come to their Spring glory. I hope for more warm, sunny days to come!
