The Long View

The Long View

We came home today from Shropshire and as it was such a beautiful day we drove over the hills that overlook the cottage where Simon’s mum lives.

This is The Long Mynd and the views really are spectacular!

I’d like to add that this evening Simon’s daughter, Charlotte, gave birth to her second child, a little boy called Matthew Paul. Congratulations to you Charlotte, partner Danny and big brother Callum 🙂

Welcome to the World, Matthew! This is some of the awe-inspiring beauty that awaits you.

  1. You caught some wonderful images on your way back North. The colours are beautiful, and I love the season purple of the heather starting to cloak the hillsides. A really lovely collection of green hill shots 🙂

  2. fabulous photos Sarah, I have commented on some individually. The Long Mynd is my favourite part of Shropshire, fell in love with it 10 years ago when I first moved to Shropshire. I’d love to know the route you took up there though.

Also congrats to Simon’s daughter and you too! Look forward to seeing the bub soon 🙂

    • Thanks Jude! I just love The Long Mynd too 🙂 Simon’s mum is at Prolly Moor so we usually head south a bit and go up what’s known as The Port Way. It’s close to the glider club. We come out at Church Stretton and yes that bit of the road would be hell for anyone with vertigo! The Port Way road’s not so bad though, you could go up, spend some time up at the top and return the same way. Of course we only go that route in the summer! I’d love to go up there in the snow for the views but the roads aren’t maintained during the winter. We never seem to have the time to actually stop at the top and wander for a while. I always think it would lovely to have a picnic up there 🙂
