Stunning, detail, color and subject. Wow!
Thanks Carrie 🙂 They are quite sensational birds!
Fantastic photo and bird!
Thanks Jet! A pheasant with bling 😉
So colourful, I love it 😊
Thank you so much 🙂 Brightness on a dull and rainy day was needed!
What type of bird is that? My kids want to know if it’s real. Beautiful vivid colours and you’ve really captured the texture of the feathers.
It’s very real Laura’s kids! It’s a golden pheasant 🙂 This is the male and he’s displaying to the females with that amazing orange ruff of his! These ones are captive birds at a Farm Park in Surrey, UK. My aunt and uncle used to keep them on their small farm in Devon but they kept escaping and being caught by foxes! The females are quite drab really, much like other pheasants. Thank you for your lovely comment 🙂
Oh I think I have seen one of those, also on a UK farm. I must not have seen quite how bright the plumage was. Absolutely stunning.
When they’re displaying it’s positively glows 🙂 They really fan those feathers out!
Interesting Sarah.
This pheasant has woken me up
Sorry mum! Right at bedtime too 😉
Stunning!
I rather thought he was 🙂 I’m editing a few more to share with you all!
Technicolor Bird 🙂
Quite so! It seems weird to have such an exuberant bird here in the UK. He looks like he belongs in a rain forest 🙂 Thanks!
beautiful!!!!!!!
I am always awestruck by these birds!! Thanks Cybele 🙂
Stunning! The colours just ‘pop’ !
Thanks Julie 🙂 He’s quite a beauty! I did struggle to keep the lens on him whenever he started his display as he moves about soooo fast 😮 I think I was fortunate that part of the enclosure is painted blue 🙂
Hi Sarah,
How beautiful!
Happy Blue Monday!
Thanks Sally 🙂 They’re fabulous birds!
Vibrant color and detail! I love it!
Thanks Laura! He’s quite something isn’t he? Pretty funny watching him doing his display dance! I would have loved to film a bit but the cage wires make even photos difficult.
You’re welcome 🙂 *chirp!*
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much 🙂 I really enjoyed watching him strut his stuff!
Absolutely stunning, Sarah!
Thanks Stacy! I have some more of him to share still 🙂
Stunning! I’ve never a bird this colorful and beautiful!
I know right? Who’d have thought you’d find what looks like a bird of paradise on a farm in UK!!! I have seen them before but as with peacocks, they’re bright beauty never fails to take my breath away 🙂 Thanks Amy.
Ooops, I meant to say never seen… On a farm in UK, Really? You captured all the details, fantastic shot. Thank you for sharing, Sarah!
Ha ha, I extrapolated your meaning Amy 😉 Yes, quite unbelievably a UK farm bird! Far prettier than it’s cousin, the common pheasant. I ought to do a post on all the birds in that family! They fascinate me 🙂
Yes, please, please do a post on them, Sarah! Can’t wait 🙂
I shall start seeking out different photos of mine!
Absolutely stunning and wonderful, Sarah, and considerably enhanced by the blue backdrop. Adrian
I did get lucky with the blue painted background 🙂 It’s only a small area with the blue and it just made his colours pop! I can confirm that for all their beauty they are just as stupid as regular pheasants 😉
Wow….thats certainly an eye catching outfit!!
You could say that Seonaid 😉 The females are pretty drab looking but he thinks he belongs in a rain forest rather than an English farm!
Such vivid and vibrant colours – beatiful
Thanks Pete 🙂 He’s positively mesmerising to watch!
Heavens! That’s an amazing shot Sarah! How detailed are those feathers.
Oh what a great reaction Jude 😀 They are just the most beautiful creatures!
He’s jumped straight out of a top notch colour magazine article Sarah … 🙂 Beautifully captured !
Thanks so much Poppy 🙂 He’s definitely very colourful, that’s for sure!
Wow. Extremely colourful!
You could say that 😉 Thanks!
Incredibly beautiful !
Thank you so much Jocelyne 🙂
