Beautiful detail on this Sarah. Lovely background too – was this taken inside? MM 🍀 (my 4 leaf clover looks pretty dull by comparison)
Thanks Mick 🙂 It was taken by the lake at Wisley so I was able to get the uniform background with a shallow DOF. I love the way these blue irises stand proud above all the other plants, they just scream “photograph me”! It’s been years since I’ve seen an actual four leafed clover. I search every year!
Just beautiful 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Gorgeous!
I just love them Jude 🙂 They’re always right on my eye level when I’m in the wheelchair and they draw me right in!
Now is the time for irises 🙂
It is indeed! Loving Wisley right now 🙂
Hi Sarah,
The blue iris is one of my favorite flowers! Thanks for sharing today.
Have a Happy Blue Monday!
Hi Sally, glad I picked your favourite flower 🙂 Have a good week!
Most beautiful iris I have ever seen. Remarkable job capturing it in all its glory.
Thanks so much LV! They’re an absolute joy to photograph 🙂 Good to hear from you! Hope you’re feeling much better. Sx
Beautiful Iris… Love the deep blue color… Very nice.
Thank you 🙂 They’re just the most wonderful flowers to photograph at this time of year!
I know that are soo beautiful…I love seeing the different colors. But never saw a blue in person…
Really? Do you have any botanical gardens nearby? Now is the time to go and look for them 🙂
I haven’t seen blue iris this beautiful. Thank you, Lisa!
Thank you 🙂 They do really well around the ponds and lakes at Wisley. Always a joy to see!
Such stunning colours and you’ve captured it perfectly Sarah! I love irises. 😀
Thank you so much 🙂 They really are stunning flowers!
Stunning photograph!
Thank you Laura 🙂
Sarah, I saw your review on Leanne Cole’s site and am very impressed by your images. Many of them get to me, but this one does especially – I think its the radiance and freshness of the blues, and those few yellows there too – and it is in any case a superb portrait. I’m going to follow your blog. Any luck with the kingfishers? Adrian
Oh thank you Adrian 🙂 Yes I love that blue iris, quite a recent image. The main aim I’ve always had with my artwork is to provoke or create an emotional response so I’m really glad that they speak to you 🙂 No luck yet with the kingfisher! I’m busy with wedding photos at the moment and then we’re off to Greece. I’m hoping to go to Devon to stay with my sister as they’ve got a kingfisher on a nearby reserve. We’ll go and set up early with some camouflage as you’ve suggested! I’ll be posting some wildlife photography from in my garden tomorrow 🙂
