This week I’ve chosen some images from my phone that I took in Kos and Rhodes, Greece. Some have been processed and others are just as they were taken. Arches are synonymous with Greek architecture so I wanted to show you a variety of monuments with interesting arches.
Beautiful series of arches! I really like the lighting through the arches of the Grand Masters.
That was such a fascinating building Amy! Just about every way you turn in Greece there’s a beautiful arch either modern or ancient.
Beautiful arches. 😀
Thank you Raewyn 🙂
Lovely Sarah! 🙂
Thank you! Amazing what you can do on a phone these days 😉
🙂
Many wonderful arches, but my favourite is in the church. Just beautiful ..
Oh Julie, it’s just the most astonishing sight! The outside is the simple white and blue that’s common to most chapels in Greece but when you walk inside you’re standing inside a work of art. Sadly, with a drop in tourism to Greece, the chapel is not often open to the public! We were very lucky to visit on a day when the caretaker just happened to be there.
So for you the Greek tradition is arches-texture rather than architecture.
Ha ha! Yeah, something like that 🙂 Seeing a pristine looking building in Greece just doesn’t seem right!
